WORK APPROACH
The strategic lines or programmatic axes of AIDEPCE were built and are developed by applying the strategies of Community-Based Rehabilitation -CBR- with the components of HEALTH, EDUCATION, LIVELIHOOD, PARTICIPATION, AND ADVOCACY, which includes the person with disabilities, their family, the community, and the legal duty-bearers of Rights.
Community-Based Rehabilitation CBR is a strategy that facilitates the rehabilitation, inclusion, and participation of people with disabilities in different social spheres; it seeks the equalization of opportunities and equal conditions, and promotes Community-Based Inclusive Development CBID.
ADVOCACY
For the recognition and respect of the rights of people with disabilities, the involvement of the different sectors of society is of utmost importance, mainly the duty-bearing entities of rights, as well as the opening of participation in decision-making spaces, starting from the community, local, and departmental levels up to the national level, according to what is established by the urban and rural development law.
EMPOWERMENT
Its purpose is the promotion and comprehensive mental and sensory rehabilitation of people with disabilities, their families, and the community, in order to strengthen confidence, vision, and leadership, implementing advocacy capacities through civic education as agents of change in different social spheres.
HEALTH
Its purpose is the promotion and comprehensive physical and mental rehabilitation of people with disabilities; for this, it carries out actions of assistance and accompaniment in medical care at specialized hospitals, promoting medical campaigns focused on rehabilitation in coordination with private and official entities, respecting and promoting its commission.
LIVELIHOOD
Its purpose is the development of capacities and skills of the population with disabilities and their families, through education and training, to promote the implementation of entrepreneurship actions with families in productive programs, which contribute to training for daily life, promoting the economic independence of people with disabilities and that of their families.
EDUCATION
Its purpose is to achieve the educational inclusion of the population with disabilities, facilitating accompaniment, advisory, and training for parents, youth, students, and teachers related to special and inclusive education; for this, it carries out support and monitoring actions for the beneficiaries and official education entities, coordinating services with other similar organizations in the care of this population, which will be in charge of technical personnel with experience in this field.
